GENERAL INFORMATION, MEXICO
Mexico is in North America, bordering the United States, Belize, and Guatemala. From the gorgeous beaches to the tropical forests to the Aztec and Mayan ruins to the large metropolises to the small highland villages - Mexico has something for everyone!
I've been to Mexico 4 times and still haven't been to the expensive tourist meccas of Acapulco, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, or Cancun. The photos and notes to follow are of my most recent trip (2001) to Mexico. I flew from Mexico City to Tuxla Gutierrez in the state of Chiapas. I stayed in Chiapas for a few weeks learning about the Zapatista uprising and local autonomous communities. I visited San Cristobal, the Tonina ruins, two of the autonomous communities, San Pedro, Chamula, and Zinacantan. Then I flew back up to Mexico City for a week hanging out solo. |
