KENYA
During the summer of 2005, I traveled to Kenya and Tanzania for four weeks. In Kenya, I stayed in Nairobi for a few days, then headed to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru before traveling to Tanzania. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see much of Kenya - other than the usual tourist route - but I hope to return soon to see the rest of the country! Kenya is in Eastern Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean, between Somalia and Tanzania. The Kenyan Highlands comprise one of the largest agricultural production regions in Africa and glaciers are found on Mount Kenya, Africa's second highest peak. Hominid fossils of significant scientific interest have found in the Rift Valley area, and it is often believed that this area of Africa is the where the human species originated from. |
